All materials may be renewed if there are no holds on the item. The X̱wi7x̱wa book return is located outside the front door. X̱wi7x̱wa library materials may be returned at any UBC campus library.
X̱wi7x̱wa Library, and all UBC libraries, are open to the public.
Alumni Borrower Library cards are available upon graduation. And Community Borrower Library cards are also available. NITEP students may activate UBC Library distance borrower privileges from a NITEP Field Centre.
New: Indigenous Community Borrower cards are now available at Xwi7xwa. Visit the website for more information (please select the Indigenous Community tab). If you have questions or concerns about getting a card please email access.library@ubc.ca so we can connect with you.
The library card will allow most physical books to be borrowed but eResource access is still restricted to current students, staff and faculty. Patrons may still be able to request Interlibrary Loan articles though and physical books for short term loan.
Materials circulate on the UBC Library circulation system which offers online renewals and holds to patrons. To renew by telephone, call 604-822-8738.

Xwi7xwa offers Media Bookings. This is a service that allows a borrower to request that a specific VHS or DVD be available for a specific date in the future. Faculty and students are welcome to request Media Bookings for classroom lectures or presentations. Please fill out our online form below to make a booking.
Media Booking
UBC students, faculty and staff may pre-book media for classroom use on specific dates using this form. Items will be charged to patron account 1 week before preferred show date when this form is used and will be due the day after showing. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided. If you have any questions or need more immediate assistance securing a DVD please contact:
