We are looking for an undergraduate student to join our team!
X̱wi7x̱wa Library is part of the First Nations House of Learning and provides research support on Indigenous topics. Library Hosts work collaboratively with X̱wi7x̱wa staff to support patrons at the circulation desk and are supervised by the Access Services Assistant and Information Services Librarian. Students in these positions contribute to our goal of creating an exceptional information, research and user experience for students, faculty and community members using the library.
Typical job duties include:
Public service: welcoming and directing patrons at the circulation desk; assisting patrons in retrieving library materials; troubleshooting library equipment (computers, scanners, photocopiers etc.); referring complex problems to other X̱wi7x̱wa team members as appropriate; helping to book appointments with librarians; collecting and maintaining patron interaction statistics.
Circulation duties: Shelving library materials; charging/discharging library materials; searching for lost materials; setting up and dismantling displays.
